Lament

Lament is a quiet, lyrical, reflective piece set in ABA form. The melody starts out in the right hand, then moves to the left hand in the B section, providing great practice for working on balance.

Consider the left hand grace notes in measure 12 optional. They’re lovely when they can be played with ease; but if a student can’t play them without interrupting the flow of the music, just leave them out.

When I think a piece might appeal to someone other than a piano teacher, I tend to include a single-user license.
